not much rain around here since sandy blew through. most of november was quite dry. our total for the month, just a trace. we're at almost pvents 6 of an inch. the yearly total is almost five inches below normal for the year. high temperatures today occurred just before 1:00. between midnight and 1:00 we were on the warm side of that front and the 51 degree low is the current temperature for the day. it is getting chillier. temperatures are down into the low and mid 40's. low 50's and you can kind of see the cold area coming in. 30's in oakland. 35 downtown. clear skies, northwest wind at 5 miles per hour and the sun went down a few minutes ago. 50's around here right now and it gets chillier as you head into cleveland. that is where the air is coming from. the core of the cold will pass far to our north as high pressure moves on by and on friday, the next warm front will actually be coming our way. this warm front is significant. look at the temperatures 68 in denver right now. it is going to be chilly for a couple of days, it is only for a couple of days. by the we

they're actually calling this special camp, camp sandy. a bus driver picked up about 30 kids and many of their parents from a shelter and brought them to the church, gateway academy. kids from ages four to 16 shared their stories, do sing alongs, arts and crafts, zumba. they can take nonper arabables from this distribution center. it's a traveling camp that served about 500 kids in the last two years. the founder says this camp in particular is tough. >> when we leave, it's definitely hard because we're going back to our bed and tv and couch. and as you can see, this is a production. like physically and emotionally. this is probably one of the hardest camps i've ever done, just hearing their stories and being able to maneuver through a disaster and all the organizations that are on site. it's definitely a challenge, but they look forward to next week. we hope he can do this every weekend while they're there. >> fema still has 36 disaster recovery centers set up in new york, 32 in new jersey, and eight in connecticut, many parents are frust

why is that not considered sandy related? >> it is weird because there are two different surveys when you look at these jobs numbers. one comes from the businesses. the businesses, they take that survey, november 12th, and the businesses are for the job creation number. the other survey is called a household survey. that's how we determine the unemployment rate. and part of that household survey is did you look for a job last week, yes, no, and why not? so a lot of people said weather related. when i was digging into the numbers, i said a normal november, weather related, about 60,000, here we had 300,000, that's one of the reasons we saw the unemployment rate go down. look, i want to feel good about the unemployment rate being low, but 7.7% happened because fewer people were part of the labor force. that's not the right reason that we wanted to see the jobless rate go down. >> absolutely. and i want to read you something that paul krugman wrote in the new york times earlier this week. he said, long-term unemployment remains
